WHAT IS A P.A.?
A physician assistant (P.A.) is a licensed health professional who practices medicine with the supervision of a physician. A physician assistant provides a broad range of health care services that are traditionally performed by a physician. As part of the physician/physician assistant team, a physician assistant exercises autonomy in diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic illnesses and can prescribe medications.
