Children’s Health

Because we have many pediatric patients, we want to remind you about the importance of regular check-ups for your children. Your children should always wear helmets when riding bicycles, roller-skating or rollerblading. They should be taught over and over again about the importance of street and automobile safety, including the dangers of parking lots. Many kids know all about the streets, but have no fear running across the parking lot at McDonalds. This is very, very dangerous. Your children's immunization schedule may change from time-to-time. As of March of 2002, here is our present recommended schedule:

  • 2 weeks - Hepatitis B #1 (if not given in hospital)
  • 2 months - DTaP, HIB, IPV, Prevnar
  • 4 months - DTaP, HIB, IPV, Prevnar
  • 6 months - DTaP, HIB, Prevnar, Hepatitis B #2
  • 12 months - Prevnar, Hepatitis B #3, Varivax (Chicken Pox)
  • 15 months - DTaP, HIB, IPV, MMR
  • 4-6 years - DTaP, IPV, MMR
